Richard Avedon for The New Yorker
I first saw these in a library magazine in 1997. I was fifteen. To my shame I recall tearing out one of the pages to take home, it was just too beautiful to lose. (The first picture posted.)
At age 19, I ordered an entire years worth of backlogged New Yorker off of EBay (thats how they came) so I could own them all.
Though its not customary to do so I cut each image out and organized the pages in a large frame. I hung it in my first ever apartment. My roommate and I would switch the images (as they were both sided) every month or so. I still to this day love these images and the story in my head about them beyond words.
